Driven by a passion for the land, farming and conservation, Samphire Wagyu was founded in 2019 by Frank Prainito on the beautiful Bass Coast region of South-eastern Victoria.Whilst farming has been in our blood stretching as far back as the mid-20th century with mixed subsistence farming in Italy and Tobacco farms in Libya, North Africa. It wasn't until 15 years ago when other business ventures moved our family from
Western Australia to Victoria that we were allowed to return to what we truly love: Breeding happy, healthy cattle.Why Wagyu? For us it has always been a simple question to answer. The eating experience of fullblood wagyu is second to none and from our first encounter with the product many years ago we were hooked, and we remain incredibly proud to support an industry that creates such a great experience for its consumers.Named Samphire for the native coastal sea asparagus that grow freely on our farms, Samphire Wagyu prides itself on breeding "Front paddock cattle'', cultivating elite wagyu genetics both in pedigree and EBV's with a keen eye on Phenotype and being genetic defect free. All Samphire Wagyu cattle are proudly registered with the Australian Wagyu Association.
